We are talking about migrating an operator from one or multiple systems to Skylegs.\u00a0Even though transformation can be demanding, most commonly it transpires as improvement. Change that results from the adoption of new technologies is frequently essential to remain competitive in a rapidly advancing and growing industry such as aviation.<\/p>\n<h2>Skylegs simplifies the migration process<\/h2>\n<p>Skylegs does not over-complicate the migration process as our mission is to save as much historical and future data as possible, while striving towards simplicity. That\u2019s why our team has plenty of experience with converting operators who already have another system in place. A seamless workflow from the sales team through planning, OCC, maintenance department to pilots is imperative. Today, we see a movement from legacy desktop systems like FOS, Bizflight, Aviator,.. to the cloud based ones like Skylegs.<\/p>\n<p>Changing systems is an important decision which should not be made lightly as it affects all departments of a company. If the decision is made to convert, it can be stressful to transfer all the data and set up a new system in place. But in the end it al starts with a plan.<\/p>\n<h2>How the migration process works<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the size of the operator, we select a one-time data transfer or synchronised approach. First, we connect to the legacy system&#8217;s database which holds flight, crew, client, passenger, duty and other precious records. If it is a legacy system we have not migrated from yet, we have to reverse-engineer the database and create conversion code. This is a task we are not shy from as we believe your data is very valuable.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, we transfer once and then shadow-run both software for a certain period until the people feel comfortable. Alternatively, we synchronise continually until the day to stop using the legacy system is reached.<\/p>\n<h2>Changing for the better<\/h2>\n<p>Being apprehensive about change is commonly the biggest challenge for people as they are often resistant to it.
