Antwerp, Belgium, 22nd Oct 2019 – Two systems with a common goal: make it easier for organisations to manage and follow up their operations. If the two systems are connected, the operator has even more advantages! Skylegs and MRX Systems are now interfacing. How is Skylegs’ maintenance module and what is MRX program? And how will this interface improve the workflow?
Skylegs’ maintenance module renders several tools to make it visually simple for the user to keep track of inspections dates, deferred repairs, predictive maintenance, and other essential checks. When opening the schedule, the user sees on the timeline all their aircraft, the missions and the expected maintenance , which depend on the calendar, the flight hours and/or the engine cycles.
The platform also generates reports automatically, such as the aircraft technical status and the maintenance statement (this one being attached to the crew briefing archive and subsequently signed by the pilot). It also blocks future flights that makes an aircraft overdue.
MRX Systems, in turn, creates and develops software in aviation maintenance and operations. One of their programs is Blue EYE, that allows CAMOs and operators to check their fleet status and manage all details about maintenance operations. In addition, it features an iOS application to be used in the cockpit, easing the communication between flying crew and technical staff while making it more assertive.
MRX Systems also developed a couple of other programs: Blue MRO, made for maintenance centres to manage their full workflow (quotations, work orders, Certificates of Release to Service [CRS], invoices, etc.) and Blue OPS, their soon-to-be-launched operation management solution.
With Skylegs now connected to MRX Systems, operators save time, as they don’t need to input the same flight details on two different platforms. Skylegs’ data is automatically exported to MRX Systems, streamlining the workflow of maintenance. The first company to benefit from it was Jet Netherlands: thanks to the interface, they are now saving 5+ hours of work a month (with an average of 150 flights a week). There is also less time wasted on double-checking and correcting the fields; the new scheme making the process less susceptible to human error.
And there are upcoming changes: MRX Systems software will also have its data exported to Skylegs; it will soon become a mutual information transfer. Inspections and repairs won’t need to be manually input on Skylegs, they will be logged automatically.
With smart interfaces like this, the fleet management becomes more fluid and clearer; the numbers can confirm it. Skylegs and MRX Systems together are making it possible and more improvements are planned to the future.
